Crystal-Ingot Orientation:OU-8  Mono-Crystal Orientation Unit

Functions: this instrument is a one special to orient the blank ingot.
While a sapphire blank ingot is to be processed to a quartz ingot of crystal direction C (or A, M, R), an accurate orientation must be done along with this direction of the blank ingot. First, stick the ingot onto a material carrier board and, then, connect the material carrier board with the special fixture on the unit, when the fixture can be adjusted in 2 dimensions( i.e. Axes X, Y ), put the ingot/fixture to the rotary table. Turn on the X-Ray Tube (in a fixed angle of crystal direction in C (or A, M, R) has been adjusted). Under x-ray Axis X is adjusted to the optimum and locks the fixture. Then turn the rotary table (when the instrument can accurately record the measured angle in accuracy within 0.001°) to 90° and you will adjust Axis Y and lock it. Later turn the rotary table by 360°, when the instrument hand does not move hardly, which proves that the crystal direction of the blank ingot has been adjusted, now you can move the ingot with fixture together to the core-drawer to drill out the core.
